「オリエント急行」といえば、鉄道にあまり興味のない方にも通じる列車名のひとつと思います。本家の「オリエント急行」は、日本では「ワゴン・リ」として知られる国際寝台車会社によって運行されていました。

国際寝台車会社の客車は、この「オリエント急行」に使われた寝台車や食堂車を中心にシャングリ・ラ鉄道でも数多くそろえています。この模型はイタリアのレンツォ・ドット―リ製で、Prototypeは比較的初期にラインナップされた木造の食堂車です。19世紀後半から20世紀初頭の華麗なヨーロッパ文化をほうふつさせる、凝った内装が見どころです。

Speaking of "Orient Express", I think it is one of the train names that even people who are not very interested in railways can understand. The original "Orient Express" was operated by an international sleeper company known as "Wagon Li" in Japan. The passenger cars of Compagnie Internationale des Wagons-Lits are also available on the Shangri-La Railway, centering on the sleeper cars and dining cars used for this "Orient Express". This model is made by Renzo Dottori of Italy, and the Prototype is a wooden dining car that was lined up relatively early. The elaborate interior is reminiscent of the splendid European culture of the late 19th and early 20th centuries.
